Sam Fender has revealed that he will be holding two additional concerts in Newcastle at St James’ Park in 2025.
The acclaimed musician from North Shields is set to perform for his hometown crowd on Thursday, June 12, and Saturday, June 14, of next year. This announcement follows his two sold-out performances at the home of Newcastle United last June.
During last year’s shows, the Geordie artist delighted fans by inviting AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, hailing from Dunston, to the stage to perform classic hits like “Back in Black” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.”
For those who couldn’t catch the excitement in 2023, the Brit Award winner is returning to perform for local fans once more.
Additionally, £1 from each ticket sold will be contributed to select cultural organizations, including ‘YouthMusic’ and ‘Sunday For Sammy,’ to support the arts in the North East of England.
These new gigs will mark the third and fourth performances by Fender at St James’ Park, surpassing The Rolling Stones, who previously held the record with three shows at the venue.
The announcement follows last week’s release of his first new music since 2022, as well as updates on his upcoming album and a European tour, which will stop at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on Friday, December 20.
Tickets for this concert were allocated through a ballot system to enhance the chances for local fans to secure a spot. Last week, Sam Fender also shared the release of his new single “People Watching” along with an album of the same title.
This follows the success of his previous albums, “Hypersonic Missiles” and “Seventeen Going Under,” released in 2019 and 2021 respectively, both of which topped the UK albums chart.
In announcing his latest album, Fender expressed his excitement to fans: “I’m thrilled to announce that our third album ‘People Watching’ will be released on February 21st.
“Over the past couple of years, the band and I have worked diligently on these songs, recording a wealth of material and carefully considering what our next steps would be. We ultimately chose this collection for our next adventure.”
Tickets for the gigs at St James’ Park will go on sale on Friday, November 29, at 9:30 AM.
