Shibdon Bank closed overnight ‘due to crash’. Photos and reports say that Shibdon Bank was closed off last night due to what believed to be a crash into a wall outside a property in the area. No further information has been released by local authorities including Northumbria Police. If we receive more, we will share it here.

Where did it happen?
The reported incident was believed to have happened at the junction of Whitewell Road and Shibdon Bank, in Blaydon. Reports started circulating on local Blaydon and Winlaton Facebook groups, with residents sharing photographs and information on what they believed happened. Other residents encouraged people to take alternative routes with the road being closed until the early hours.
What happened?
It is believed that a crash took place, outside a property, with another photograph indicating a car crashed into a wall. However, no other information has been released at this present time, including from local authorities including Northumbria Police.
Is Shibdon Bank still closed?
The bank is now believed to be open after being closed for some time overnight and into the early hours of the morning. Residents were then able to travel again.
