Scotswood Road – Two taken to hospital after collision this morning. Two individuals have been transported to the hospital following a rush hour collision that resulted in the closure of a busy road in Newcastle.

Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Scotswood Road at approximately 8:10 AM today. The incident occurred at the junction with Violet Close, necessitating the temporary closure of a portion of the road while emergency responders managed the situation.

Two ambulance crews and a clinical team leader were sent to the scene,

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.14am on Friday 13 December to reports of a road traffic incident on Scotswood Road in Newcastle. We dispatched two ambulance crews and a clinical team leader to the scene, and transported two patients to the RVI for further treatment.”

What did Northumbria Police say?

Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 8.10am today (Friday), we received a report of a collision on Scotswood Road in Newcastle. Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible.”

What did Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue say?

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service said: “We can confirm that earlier this morning (Friday 13th December), an appliance from Newcastle Central Community Fire Station attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Scotswood Road in Newcastle.

“The emergency call was received by our control room from the Police at 8.17 a.m. requesting our assistance, and the crew were on-scene within five minutes.
