A charity established in memory of teenager Holly Newton will be the recipient of one of the 49 Sycamore Gap ‘Trees of Hope’ saplings next winter.
Holly Newton was just 15 years old when she tragically lost her life at the hands of her ex-boyfriend in January 2023, unable to accept the end of their relationship. A passionate lover of animals and dance, Holly cherished her time spent outdoors and had plans to raise funds for her dance school by climbing Ben Nevis.
In honor of Holly’s legacy, her mother and stepfather, Micala and Lee Trussler, are committed to raising funds for the purchase and installation of bleed boxes and critical injury kits across the region.
Their main aim is to ensure that life-saving equipment is readily accessible in situations involving serious bleeding. Notably, a bleed box has already been installed at Hexham Abbey.
The National Trust confirmed the ‘Trees Of Hope’ saplings will be planted next winter.
