Mike Nolan

Mike Nolan recently announced his exit from 1980s Eurovision spin-off group The Fizz, however, he has revealed he will always have time for his bandmates, should they need him.

Speaking after his farewell show at Sevenoaks’ The Stag Theatre, he told PA: “It was stressful – not horrible stressful, just a bit of a worry, because we wanted it all to be good.

“t was a great way to for it to end for me. I was sad, but very, very happy as well, it was brilliant.”

When announcing his plans to quit the band earlier this year, he said “It’s for personal reasons.

“I’ve been thinking about it for a long, long time, and I just thought, this is the time to do it.”

The group then went on to have a string of top 10 hits with the likes of Land of Make Believe and My Camera Never Lies.

But Mike Nolan says he hasn’t ruled out making any special appearances.

He added: “I haven’t just walked away, they know, if I’m needed for something specific where they don’t want the new line-up, they’ll phone up and ask me, and I can either say yes or no.”

Original Bucks Fizz stars Cheryl, Mike, Jay and Bobby G tragically suffered a coach crash in December 1984, after performing in the North East. Mike was left with serious injuries but later recovered.

Cheryl and Jay have now recruited two new singers to join them on future shows – Matthew Pateman, former lead singer with Bad Boys Inc and Nikk Mager who appeared on Popstars: The Rivals.
